Discover the splendor of the ancient world (Empuries and Sant Martí), enjoy the beach, walk along a beautiful and pleasant coastal path and visit the medieval village of Sant Martí d’Empúries and L’Escala, famous for its exquisite anchovies.

On this occasion, we propose a complete excursion to the beaches of L’Escala and the medieval village of Sant Martí d’Empúries, which has one of the most important archaeological treasures of Catalonia and the entire Iberian Peninsula: the impressive Greco-Roman city of Empúries, the first settlement of the Greeks and Romans in the peninsula.

The excursion includes:

1) A pleasant and easy (it’s totally flat) one-hour walk along the coastal path that connects the medieval town of Sant Martí d’Empúries with L’Escala.

2) Guided tour in Sant Martí d’Empúries and L’Escala

3) Optional guided tour of the archaeological remains of the Greco-Roman city of Empúries.

4) Free time to enjoy the beautiful coves of Sant Martí and L’Escala

THE PLAN:

8:30h: We will meet in Plaza Catalunya -in front of the Hard Rock- to catch our bus.

10:30h: Arrival in Sant Martí d’Empúries

10.30-11h: Brief breakfast and/or coffee

11-12h: Guided tour of Sant Martí d’Empúries and introduction to the history of the Greco-Roman city of Empúries

12-17h: Free time to enjoy the beaches and the possibility -it is optional- of taking a guided tour of the archaeological remains of the Greco-Roman city of Empúries (admission costs 6 euros)

17-18h: Guided walk along the coastal path to L’Escala

18-18.30h: Guided tour of L’Escala or free time

18.30-20.30h: Coach back to Barcelona

SAFETY MEASURES COVID19:

✔︎ It is mandatory to wear an approved mask on the bus, during the visits and during the hike.

✔︎ Transport by bus of 60 or 70 seats for a maximum of 40 people.

✔︎ Lunch will be on your own (you can eat in Begur or in Sa Riera).

✔︎ Disinfectant gel at your disposal.

✔︎ If you feel sick or have been in contact with someone affected, stay at home.

IMPORTANT: Do not forget to bring good walking shoes, sunglasses, a good jacket and a raincoat just in case. If the weather forecast is bad or the situation generated by Covid19 prevents us from doing so, the excursion will be postponed.
