Enjoy a very complete day in Begur and its coves: visit the town and discover some aspects of its fascinating history; contemplate the bay of Pals from the remains of the medieval castle; walk along a wooded path to the cove of Sa Riera; enjoy the beach and walk along a beautiful coastal path.

Guided tour of Begur and the remains of its castle, the best watchtower on the coast
Begur is a beautiful town with a traditional flavor located on top of a hill, with spectacular views over the sea and the interior of the Empordà; the remains of a 14th century castle; watchtowers; charming streets; and beautiful colonial-style houses built by the famous “Indianos”.

Walk (approx. 1 hour) along a beautiful wooded path to the cove of Sa Riera
After visiting the town, discovering some of its fascinating history and enjoying its views, we will take a beautiful walk to Sa Riera along a very beautiful wooded path.

Free time to eat and enjoy the coves of Sa Riera and Illa Roja
Between the Sa Riera cove and Platja de Pals there is one of the most beautiful corners of the Costa Brava: the Illa Roja cove, a beach of great beauty and with a large rock that presides over it and which gives it its name due to its russet.

Short walk along the spectacular coastal path -30 minutes- from Sa Riera to the beach of Pals
We are going to walk along the beautiful coastal path that connects the cove of Sa Riera with the beach of Pals, passing through the cove of l’Illa Roja, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa Brava.

THE PLAN
– 8h: We meet at Plaça Universitat (main entrance of the UB) to take our private bus.
– 10h: Arrival in Begur and time for breakfast
– 10.30-12h: Guided tour in Begur
– 12-13h: Hike to Sa Riera along a wooded path
– 13-17.30h: Free time to eat and enjoy the coves of Sa Riera and Illa Roja
– 17.30-18h: Walk to the beach of Pals along the coastal path
– 18h: Return bus, arriving in Barcelona around 8:00 p.m.

Languages: Spanish and Catalan (if someone needs additional explanations in English there is no problem)

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION OF THE WALK FROM BEGUR TO SA RIERA:

– Level: On a wooded path and downhill. Easy (but a minimum of physical condition is required)
– Total distance: 4 km approx.
– Duration: 1 hora approx.
