DATE: July 16 at 8am

The Capcir, a North Catalan region located in the heart of the Pyrenees, treasures unique areas of great natural beauty and offers a wide range of landscapes, lakes and small charming villages.

WALK AND PICNIC ON THE SHORES OF LAKE MATEMALE

Lake Matemale, located at an altitude of 1541 meters, in the heart of the Capcir plateau, is an ideal place to spend the day. Equipped with all kinds of services and surrounded by a beautiful forest, the lake offers a wide range of activities and wide views of the region.

We will do an easy and very flat hike along the lake shore (time and distance will be fixed by us according to the walk and weather conditions) and we will have a picnic lunch on the lake shore.

MONTLLUIS (MONT-LOUIS)

The village of Mont-Louis stands at an altitude of 1600 meters, at the crossroads of Conflent, Capcir and Cerdanya. Founded in the 17th century by order of King Louis XIV to protect this territory after the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659, it is the highest fortified village in France. Built by Vauban between 1679 and 1681, this former stronghold can also be proud to be listed in the UNESCO world heritage under the name of Vauban fortifications.

FORMIGUERES

Situated at an altitude of 1600 meters, in the heart of the Pyrenees Regional Park, the small capital of the Capcir region retains all its charm.

ROYAL AND PUYVALADOR LAKE

To finish the day, we will visit the small town of Real, where we will have the opportunity to contemplate the lake of Puyvalador and enjoy the fantastic surroundings.
