Santa Coloma de Gramenet, whose history and urban development is strongly conditioned by the migratory waves of the second half of the twentieth century, is not Venice. But the city and its surroundings hide small treasures worth visiting. Old farmhouses such as Mas Fonollar, Can Zam or Can Mariner still remind us of the agricultural past of the city, which has also preserved the Romanesque Torre Balldovina, as well as the Iberian settlement of Puig Castellar, with a fabulous view of the whole area.

And very close to the city, but already within the municipality of Badalona, stands the monastery of Sant Jeroni de la Murtra, an ancient monastery of the Hieronymite order built in Gothic style in the early fifteenth century. It was here that Ferdinand, who was recovering from the wounds caused by an assassination attempt on the stairs of the Palacio Mayor of Barcelona, received Christopher Columbus from his first voyage to America.

A complete and enjoyable guided walk through Santa Coloma de Gramenet and its surroundings, stopping at Sant Jeroni de la Murtra (this time we will not visit it) and the Iberian settlement of Puig Castellar.
